Village at Blackshear is a 64-unit, 100% Section 8-assisted tax credit development originally built in the late 1970s under the Georgia Department of Community Affairs’ tax credit program. It was renovated in 1981 but now, 33 years later, the units are worn out and do not meet current code requirements or DCA minimum unit size.
In 2012, the development was awarded state and federal tax credits, resulting in a complete rehabilitation of the development. Construction started in November 2013 and the renovations at Village at Blackshear were finished in December 2014.
